Seventeen of the twenty-three cost £6.0m or less. Twenty are owned by fewer than one manager in ten. Exactly two are in more than a fifth of squads, and one of those was a penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

Jack Hinshelwood scored twice, two minutes apart, at £6.0m and 0.8% ownership. Victor Lindelöf’s own goal is not in the table because it paid nobody.
Sunday, in three lines
Brighton beat Aston Villa 4-0, with Hinshelwood’s double either side of a Lindelöf own goal and De Cuyper finishing from close range.
Manchester City were six minutes from losing at home to Bournemouth after Marcus Tavernier’s opener. Marc Guéhi headed in from a corner on 84 minutes and Joško Gvardiol won it in stoppage time, which means both City goals came from centre-backs.
Newcastle led Liverpool twice at St James’ Park through Anthony Elanga and a Joe Willock goal seconds after coming on. Cody Gakpo replied from 25 yards and Szoboszlai took a penalty in the ninth minute of added time for 2-2. Alexander Isak’s return to Newcastle went the way the crowd wanted.
Where the board landed
Friday’s preview named Guéhi as second on the defensive board at £6.0m and pointed at the Bournemouth fixture. He scored the goal that turned the game. Saka, tenth in the league and under 10% owned, scored on Friday night. Stach, ninth on the midfield board at 1.2%, won the game at Forest.
The nine differentials published on Friday can now be closed out. Two scored, and three were in defences that kept a clean sheet. Senesi conceded three at Brentford, and Donnarumma and Matheus Nunes were both in a City side that conceded to Bournemouth, so neither got the clean sheet the fixture suggested.
That is a real record rather than a flattering one. It is also the second week running that the useful signal was price rather than rating.
One thing to be careful about
Bruno Guimarães has gone from 7.1% ownership on Friday to 3.7% today. That is not the market reassessing a top-ten player. He is carrying a thigh injury and FPL has him at a 75% chance of playing, which is what the ownership is responding to. Friday’s piece named him as a differential and could not have known that, and anyone acting on it now should check the flag first.
What to do with the next transfer
The temptation after a weekend like this is to chase the £4.5m player who scored. Resist the specific and keep the general.
Twenty of twenty-three goalscorers were owned by under 10% of managers. That is not a fluke of one weekend, it is what the opening round of a season looks like when nobody has any form to go on and everyone has bought the same six premium assets. The cheap end of the squad is where the variance lives, and in August it is also where the information is thinnest for everybody, including us.
So the transfer worth making is not Hinshelwood. It is asking whether your fourth and fifth cheapest outfield players are actually starting for their clubs, because that is the difference between owning a lottery ticket and owning a blank.
The ratings are still frozen
No rating on this site has moved. Not one player carries a 2026-27 entry yet, because the ratings update when a gameweek completes and Fulham against Chelsea does not kick off until Monday evening.
Every figure here is from the snapshot taken today, which knows the nine results and has not yet turned any of them into a rating. When it does, Stach, Ajayi, Mendy, Emersonn and Hinshelwood will carry a Premier League number for the first time, built on ninety minutes and worth treating as such.
